Collection: Pakistan

Pakistan is one of the world’s leading red-chili producers, with the Sindh province—especially Kunri—known as the “red chili capital,” accounting for around 80–85% of national red-chili output. Key varieties include Desi Kunri, Mexi Kunri, Nageena Kunri, and hybrids like Sanam, producing long, narrow, bright-red Capsicum annuum widely dried and traded.

Chili is a major cash crop and export commodity, with dried red chilies and powders sent across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Domestically, green chilies and dried red chili (lal mirch) are essential in curries, pickles (achar), chutneys, and snacks. Types range from mild long green mirch to very hot small red chilies.

Pakistan also imports specialty dried chilies but remains a net exporter. Flavour-wise, Pakistani chilies are prized for high colour and robust, linear heat that anchors its richly spiced cuisine.
