Collection: Asia

Asia is the world’s spicy epicenter—producing around 80% of global hot pepper output and dominating dried and processed export markets. China alone accounts for nearly 50% of chili production, exporting massive volumes of fresh, dried, and processed pepper to South Korea, Japan, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania.

India, Vietnam, and Indonesia are also top global exporters, specializing in dried chili and black pepper; Vietnam’s pepper exports exceeded $1 billion in 2025. South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan import specialty chilis to meet distinct flavour and quality preferences for foods like kimchi, shichimi, and yuzu kosho.

Asian flavours—like Szechuan, gochujang, and Thai curry—drive both regional and global demand, with domestic and cross-border trade booming. Internally, regional cuisines determine favorites: teja and Sannam in India, bird’s eye and prik kee noo in Thailand, Sichuan and facing heaven in China. The region’s exports cover all product types: whole, ground, paste, and oil—often supplying global ingredient and snack markets.
