Iran’s pepper industry is rapidly maturing, with notable growth in capsicum green pepper exports, powered by greenhouse investments and modern packing houses. While not matching pistachio, date, or tomato volumes, Iran’s peppers are now a recognized export with growing markets in China, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

Producers focus on value-added packaging and high-quality varieties suited to arid climates, leveraging advancements in irrigation and pest control. Export prices averaged $630/ton in 2024, and Iranian agricultural exports reached nearly $7.6 billion in 2025, highlighting the country’s expanding footprint in food trade.
