Collection: Capsicum Flexuosum

Capsicum flexuosum: C. flexuosum is a wild, shrubby pepper with arching, zig-zag branches and small, narrow leaves that give it a loose, woodland look. Its flowers are typically white to greenish, sometimes with purplish tones, and the fruits are tiny, round to bullet-shaped berries that turn from green to orange-red or red at maturity, usually only a few millimeters across. Heat reports vary from mild to notably pungent, but the tiny size makes it more of a curiosity than a culinary staple. This species is native to southeastern and southern Brazil, northeastern Argentina, and Paraguay, where it grows in seasonally dry forests and edges, showing unusual cold tolerance for a Capsicum and making it interesting to breeders as a genetic resource.
