Collection: Brazil

Brazil is a top global producer and exporter of black pepper (Piper nigrum) and increasingly recognized for its Capsicum varieties, such as malagueta and biquinho. Espírito Santo, Pará, and Bahia are primary production centres, with black pepper farms often spanning 5–15 hectares and managed by family-run operations.

Brazil exported 80,000 tons of black pepper worth $252 million in 2023; Capsicum exports remain much smaller in volume but are important in local cuisine, export, and processed foods. Research and seed innovation drive rising yields and diversification into specialty and organic products.
