Flavour Profile: Juicy, sweet, tangy, with a smoky undertone. Notably thick-walled and rich; the bottom of the pod is milder, top is hotter.
Origin: Uncertain; sometimes called "white seed rocoto" (not actually a rocoto).
Species: Capsicum Chinense.
Plant Description: Unique oblong, egg-shaped pods up to 1.5in long (4–5cm), satin-brown when ripe. Medium (28in) bush, compact and prolific. Pods go green to brown as they mature. Suitable for pots and containers.
Culinary Use: Used fresh, stuffed, grilled, or for smoky powders. Mild enough for stuffing cream cheese; excellent flavour on BBQ.
