Collection: Slovenia
Slovenia’s pepper production focuses mainly on sweet bell pepper, with an annual volume of about 2.85 million kg (2023) and a declining trend in recent years. Despite Slovenia’s modest size, peppers are valued highly in household gardens and market farming, with smaller quantities of hot chili also widely cultivated.
Exports remain low, but demand for imported dried chili and premium peppers is rising. Increased greenhouse production and innovation in protected growing environments have become central to sustaining yields and meeting consumer preferences year-round. Imported peppers from Albania and neighboring countries supplement local production and help stabilize supply for Slovenian consumers.
