Collection: Guatemala

Guatemala grows a wide range of hot peppers, including habanero, jalapeño, and local indigenous types, largely for regional fresh market and export. Production is concentrated in lowland departments like Petén, Zacapa, and Chiquimula.

Farmer organizations support varietal improvement and integrated pest management. Guatemala’s chili sector is increasingly diversified, with both agro-industry and smallholder farmers participating in value chains for salsas, hot sauces, and dried spice exports.
