Collection: Gabon
Gabon’s chili industry is emerging, with annual dried chili production ranging from 43 to 48 metric tons and a rising interest in specialty varieties and fresh green peppers for urban markets. Most cultivation occurs on smallholder family plots, either as part of mixed cropping or in peri-urban gardens.
Gabon’s pepper yield is among Africa’s lowest, but local demand for fresh and processed forms supports strong prices and gradual sector growth. Imports from larger regional suppliers supplement gaps in domestic supply.
