Collection: Egypt

Egypt is a major African producer of green chili and pepper, with output reaching 681,000 tonnes in 2022. Egyptian peppers are grown predominantly in the Nile Delta and Upper Egypt, where irrigation supports year-round cultivation. Both fresh and dried chili varieties are produced for the domestic market and export, particularly to European and Middle Eastern countries.

Egypt’s pepper sector is well integrated into greenhouse production to ensure reliability amidst climate variability. Export-focused farms utilize high-yield cultivars and increasingly participate in quality certification programs to meet international standards.
