Collection: Capsicum Galapagoense

Capsicum galapagoense: Capsicum galapagoense is a rare, wild pepper endemic to a few of the Galápagos Islands. Plants are small and bushy, with very hairy, silvery-green leaves that release a strong, pleasantly resinous aroma when touched.

Flowers are tiny and white, and they mature into small, round to slightly elongated berries that ripen from green to bright red. Heat is generally hot to very hot, packed into each tiny fruit. In nature, this species grows in the mild, seasonally dry, fog-influenced microclimates of the Galápagos, making it an ecological specialist and a conservation concern as native habitats face pressure.
