Collection: Capsicum Chinense

Capsicum chinense: These are the “super-hot” and aromatic types like habanero, Scotch bonnet, and Carolina Reaper, with wrinkled, lantern- or bonnet-shaped fruits often ripening to orange, red, chocolate, or yellow. Heat typically runs from very hot to record-breaking extremes in the millions of Scoville units, although a few mild aromatic cultivars exist. The species is native to the lowland tropics of the Americas and remains strongly associated with the Caribbean, northern South America, and parts of Central America.
