Varieties include bird’s eye, scotch bonnet, and long red chili, cultivated both for fresh use in local cuisine and for sun-dried exports supplied to West African markets.

Farmers participate in regional seed programs and diversify with pepper for resilience against dry-season hunger. The country is among the top 100 global producers, with gradual gains in both volume and agricultural development.
