Bangladesh is a leading South Asian producer and exporter of fresh and dried red chili, with cultivation focused in Rajshahi, Dinajpur, and Rangpur. Bangladeshi farmers supply both domestic markets and export partners in Malaysia and Sri Lanka, with 200 metric tons of green chili exported daily through Hili border alone in 2024.

The sector is expanding, with variety improvement, organic initiatives, and farm extension projects supporting rural employment and higher yields.
